In Templeorum National School we are lucky to have an amazing school community made up of fantastic children, enthusiastic and dedicated staff and very supportive parents.
Our school motto is “Every Child is Valued” and this guides us in all we do in school.
We hope over the coming months you will continue to visit our blog to see and read about our rich, exciting curriculum and the further development of our school. Keep an eye out for regular updates which will give you an insight into our school life and keep you up to date with all our activities.

Here in Templeorum Primary School, we follow the national curriculum as laid down by the Department of Education. The curriculum is designed to allow schools choose topics of study through which skills and knowledge can be taught in an integrated way. This is especially important for the younger children.
In addition to the set curriculum, we prepare pupils for the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
For the development of IT skills, the children use netbooks on a regular basis. Twenty netbooks were purchased in recent years. A variety of activities are used to engage the children.
The School Self Evaluation Process began in 2012. Data gathered on literacy and numeracy from the parents, children and teachers helped set out targets for literacy and numeracy development.
Recent initiatives include Aistear, Jolly Phonics, Ready Set Maths and a variety of reading materials to really make reading more exciting.
Keyboard skills , Spanish lessons, Orienteering, Cross Country and School hurling Leagues and developing the school garden have kept us busy with extra curricular pursuits.
